# DME - The Independent Desalination Institute

> DME is the independent institute for water desalination: neutral technical and commercial assessment of desalination assets, projects and technologies. DME sells no plants and holds no vendor ties, so clients get an answer with no agenda. DME is independent since 2008, with predecessor activities since 2003.

DME serves lenders, investors, operators, owners, ministries and international corporations from more than 40 countries. Its independence is structural, written into the Independence Charter: no plant sales, no EPC interests, no manufacturer ties. As a specialist SME (small and medium-sized enterprise), a team and not a one-person operation, and a hidden champion in its field, DME answers the questions that suppliers cannot answer neutrally.

Track record: independent since 2008; clients from 40+ countries; assessment experience up to 960 MW / 225 MIGD scale; more than 1,000 professionals trained since 2003; around 100 publications.
