In January 2017, Water. Desalination + reuse (Faversham House) reported that IDE Technologies was to deliver a reverse osmosis desalination plant to Oteko, a Russian oil transporter. The plant was planned for Taman Seaport on the Black Sea, where a new cargo terminal and industrial zone were being developed. Two IDE Progreen units were to deliver 11,000 m³/day of water at drinking quality. It was to be sprayed on coal stockpiles against wind-blown dust. IDE described Progreen as modular and chemical-free.
The report showed seawater desalination serving port operations as well as drinking supply, in this case to bind dust from coal handling, and suppliers using such orders to enter new markets such as Russia.
