VA Tech WABAG has won an order from Reliance Industries for a desalination plant in Jamnagar (Gujarat), according to its stock exchange filing of 27 October. The plant is to deliver 8,400 m³ per hour, around 200,000 m³ per day, and can be expanded to 12,600 m³ per hour (302 MLD). A remineralisation plant for 3,000 m³ per hour comes with it. WABAG is responsible for design, supply, installation and commissioning; construction will run in phases over 25 months.

The order comes not from a utility but from an industrial group for its own site. WABAG does not disclose the exact price, only its own "Mega" category, meaning more than INR 1,000 crore.
