On 17 September, an International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) tribunal ordered Ghana Water to pay about USD 235 million. The dispute concerned the termination of the water purchase agreement for the Teshie desalination plant. Interest accrues from 1 April 2026, and Ghana Water's counterclaims were largely dismissed. Under a state guarantee, the Republic of Ghana is also liable. The plant has been idle since October 2025. The award was announced by Cox, majority owner of the project company.
