In January 2016, Water. Desalination + reuse (Faversham House) reported that Doosan Hydro Technology had received an order from Samsung Construction and Trading, the South Korean EPC contractor. The order covered water and wastewater treatment for Facility D in Qatar, a combined power and water production scheme. Samsung held the EPC contract for the scheme, developed by Tokyo Electric Power Company together with Mitsubishi Corporation. Doosan's scope comprised a demineralisation package, treatment of industrial and sanitary wastewater, and treatment of oily water.
The report showed how, on large Gulf water and power projects at the time, contracts passed in stages from the developers through the main contractor to specialised suppliers.
