In October 2018, Seven Seas Water, a business unit of AquaVenture Holdings, announced via PR Newswire a contract with the Water Corporation of Anguilla. Under the deal, the Caribbean island's public utility would buy drinking water for ten years from the company, which runs desalination and wastewater treatment as a service. Deliveries were to begin at once at about 1,900 m³/d and grow to roughly 2,800 m³/d within a few months, with a later expansion to around 3,800 m³/d planned during the term.
The report illustrated the water-as-a-service model: the utility bought water through a long-term agreement rather than financing a plant itself. For Seven Seas Water, the deal added another location in the Caribbean.
