The three mobile desalination plants at Porto Empedocle, Gela and Trapani delivered a combined 664,416 m³ in July. On average they supplied 248 of 288 litres per second, more than 86 % of rated capacity. At the same time, the distribution network loses 45 to over 55 % of the water.
Desalination closes no gap when the network loses half. In Sicily, the pipes decide, not the plant.
